Huangshan Zhenzhou has independently established the country's first industrial museum dedicated to preserving the memories of the 'Third Front Construction' movement. Opened on October 16, 2022, this museum is located at 15 Fengshan Road in the Jiulong Low-Carbon Economic Park, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. Spanning an area of 560 square meters, it houses over 520 exhibits. The museum comprehensively showcases the remarkable history of the Shanghai Xiangdong Equipment Factory, one of the 81 units involved in the construction of the Southern Anhui Small Third Front, which began preparations in 1970 and officially commenced production in 1977. In May 1980, it successfully provided capacitors for China's first carrier rocket, receiving congratulations from the Central Military Commission. This museum also reflects the 55-year dedication of He Pingzhou, the founder of Huangshan Zhenzhou, to the capacitor industry and the legacy of military craftsmanship.
The museum's name is inspired by Mao Zedong's poem line "Dare to change the sun and moon to create a new heaven," which vividly reflects the indomitable spirit and determination of the people from the Third Front during that era. The exhibition is divided into four sections: "The Beginning of the Kunpeng Waves - Popular Science on Capacitors," "Fortune Blown by the East Wind - Third Front Construction," "Now Stepping Forward Again - Stories from the East Factory," and "Waiting for the Mountain Flowers to Bloom - Promoting Development through Party Building." Inside, there is a complete production line for aluminum electrolytic capacitors from the Third Front construction period, presented through a variety of artistic methods including images, text, scene recreations, and interactive experiences. This showcases the "Three-Line Spirit" of hard work, innovation, teamwork, and selfless dedication, preserving the memories of the Huangshan people related to the Third Front and documenting the patriotic sentiments of the older generation involved in this movement. Additionally, it provides valuable material for researching the preservation and innovative utilization of industrial heritage from the Third Front construction.
The evolution from the 'Small Third Line' to the Shanghai East Equipment Factory, culminating in the present-day Huangshan Zhenzhou Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., reflects the significant changes in China's electrolytic capacitor industry. This transformation not only aligns with the national strategy of 'Yangtze River Delta Regional Integration' but also stands as a successful example of economic collaboration between Shanghai and Anhui. It is poised to become a prominent symbol and vital window for preserving the industrial heritage of Huangshan City.
